This piece recently posted in the bloggers app Medium by Tim Laycock quickly racked up 50,000 views and its easy to see why.
With an interesting perspective on the way our subconscious mind plunges us into speech before thought, Tim maps out his steps to handling ego in bite size nuggets that he has named PECA.
He digests feelings for what they are, touching on the buzz words like “empathy.”
“Empathy is a very broad term and a skill that leaves much to the imagination. Is empathy understanding when someone is upset because their friend passed, and yours has too? Is empathy recognising the background information and perspective in an argument or heated situation? Kind of yes, kind of no. Your experience may be different and therefore your empathy is imbalanced.”
Congratulations Tim on this brilliant off the cuff piece.
